The series follows the trials and adventures of a female doctor, 'Dr. Mike', in a small wild west town where the citizens less than thrilled by the concept of a woman doctor. While struggling to earn their trust, her life gets complicated with the growing relationship with mountain man Byron Sully, and the unexpected responsibility of raising three orphaned children.
